Hello Spring Party

Spring Party ideas

It’s March! Winter is as good as over, and I have visions of sunshine and flowers dancing in my head. Don’t get me wrong, there are parts of winter that I do enjoy, but I would be lying if I said that I didn’t wake up on March 1st with a spring (haha) in my step. And what better way to celebrate new beginnings than a Hello Spring party?

Spring brings to mind rain showers and bright flowers. The earth awakens and is ready for some sugary treats. Oh wait, that’s just my kids. My youngest who is still at home with me most of the time was more than happy to be our model for this shoot, just wait until you see all the lovely treats she got to sample. If you’re looking to host your own little spring celebration read on for some cute and easy decorating and treat ideas.

I’m very excited to be part of a Spring Party Blog Hop with some super talented women. Be sure to hop on to the next blog and enjoy all the other amazing party ideas, scroll down for the links!

Aren’t these photos amazing? Krystle Images is seriously my favorite photographer ever, she does all our family photos and I was so excited to collaborate with her on this party!

My favorite part of course is the treat table! This was so fun to style. The streamer backdrop is such an easy and effective design. Just take two or three (or more if you’re feeling adventurous!) colors from your color scheme and hang streamers behind your table. I hot glued mine around a piece of twine and taped either side to the wall but you can just tape it to the wall. The ‘Hello Spring’ sign was made using my Silhouette Cameo , there is no way I could have cut that out by hand!

The tissue paper tassel garland is dead easy to make, and is such as easy way to dress up a table. Check out my tutorial here to learn how to make your own!

I made tissue paper flowers to fame the backdrop and hide the tops of the crepe paper streamers. These are super easy to make, and I’ll be doing a quick little tutorial on how to make them so stay tuned.

My favorite treat on the dessert table had to be the fluffy gourmet candy floss from Metro Vancouver area sugar maven Soul Sugar Co. I mean seriously, how cute are these cloud cake toppers?? The cotton candy was so delicious, they come in a huge variety of flavors and colors, perfect to go with any party.

I made a simple vanilla cake with lovely fluffy seven-minute frosting. Mounds of fluffy pink frosting puts me right in my happy place.

And any spring table needs some gorgeous flowers! These blooms from Port Moody Flowers helped us to brighten up our treat table and add some color and life. If you’re local head on in to their flower shop in Newport Village, their floral designs are so creative and beautiful. The rose/tulip/hyacinth posy was the perfect addition to this display. Oooh those colors!!

Honeycomb decorations are super trendy right now and are the perfect decoration for just about any party theme. I added some in front of the treat table and used a variety of white balls to create my ‘clouds’ for the serving table. I can’t get enough of them!  And just look at my sweet little bubs, party for one.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to create the ‘Hello Spring’ sign for the treat table and the raindrops. If you do a lot of paper crafting I can’t recommend a Silhouette machine enough. You can buy the designs individually online, and there are thousands of them!

A simple way to create a big impact is your table covering. Rather than buying a new table cloth or table runner for each party you throw, you can just use wrapping paper. Easy right?

The paper party ware is from the Meri Meri ombre line. Such pretty colors with gold edging, they will be available in my online shop next week!

This girl just loved all the sweet treats. The little meringue cookies are also super easy to make and are such an elegant addition to any party, learn how to make them here.

  1. I love the top of your backdrop! I try to do those streamer backdrops all the time and they always look so terrible because of the top. Looks like I have a new decoration to try!
