Super Mario Bros. Party

I wanted to share this awesome Mario Bros. party with you today. My friend Lahine throws each of her two boys the most amazing birthday parties each year, and their birthdays are only weeks apart! She’s a machine. Lahine pays attention to every last detail (girl after my own heart), but if that isn’t your style any of these ideas will make your party, well, super!

The Details

Let’s start with my favorite part, the treats! I love when themed food really works with a party. Some themes just don’t lend themselves to naming the food with cute sayings and puns, but this is spot on.

I love all the little props she found for the treat table, it really helps add to the overall look, and if your kid already has Mario toys you can totally incorporate these rather than buying a bunch of new items.

This backdrop is so cute! All you really need is a printer, although a die-cut machine like the Silhouette doesn’t hurt either.

These ‘pipe’ cupcakes are perfection! Anyone who has played Super Mario Bros knows these iconic structures.

And this cake! Swoon

If you’re not a fondant master, and who among us are, you can just use your kid’s figures and add them to your cake. Easy peasy.

How awesome are these mustaches??

The pinata, filled with all sorts of awesome treat of course!

These tabletop decorations are so cute! The kids got such a kick of all the little details that they recognize from the games.

And finally the guests were given these adorable favor boxes to take home. The tags say “thanks for playing game over”. Love it.

Awesome party right?? Any Mario-loving child would love this party, you don’t have to do it all but a few little details are always so much fun.

  1. I don’t know why, but Bowser coming out of that cake is cracking me up. I know you did this for kids, but how fun would this be for a 90s party or a milestone birthday for those of us who came up with Nintendo?!
